Meghalaya 2N/3D

Day 01

Shillong

  • On arrival at Guwahati Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you to board your vehicle to Shillong
  • On the way visit the beautiful Umium Lake
  • On arrival in Shillong check into the hotel
  • After Refreshment, if time permits we visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake
  • In the evening take a walk around Shillong’s famous Police Bazaar. Shillong the capital of Meghalaya and home to several waterfalls. It is also known as the Scotland of East
  • Dinner and Overnight in Shillong

Day 02

Cherrapunjee

  • After breakfast in the morning start for excursion to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the earth
  • On the way visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak – to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city
  • At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls
  • Drive back to Shillong for Overnight Stay

Day 03

Depature

  • After breakfast check-out from Hotel and transfer to Guwahati airport.

Summary

Meghalaya (Abode of Clouds in Sanskrit) is one of the seven Northeastern states of India. It is bound by Assam in north and east and by Bangladesh in the south. River Brahmaputra (or Luit as called locally) forms the border in the west. It comprises of erstwhile Khasi-Jaintia hills and Garo hills districts of Assam. Most of the terrain is hilly and experiences heavy rainfall during monsoons. Meghalaya is home to three major tribal population – Khasis, Garos and Jaintias (in order of population).
