Indonesia 8N/9D

DAY 1

Yogyakarta

  • Arrive at Adisumarmo airport (Solo) or at Adisucipto airport (Yogyakarta) where you will be welcomed and greeted before directly transferring you to your hotel in Yogyakarta
  • Arrive at the hotel and check into your room. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure
  • Overnight at Yogyakarta

DAY 2

Prambanan Temple – Ramayana Performance

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • This morning discover the Prambanan Temple in a new way
  • Enjoy lunch at local restaurant before driving back to the hotel
  • In the evening, go for a ride on Andong horse cart, a traditional horse riding cart. Visit the local villages around the area
  • Then continue your wonderful evening with Ramayana Ballet Performance at Purawisata. It is a classical Javanese dance performed by more than hundred dancers and is based on the Ramayana story. This trip includes a festive Javanese dinner at Gazebo restaurant of Purawisata
  • Return to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel

DAY 3

Borobudur Sunrise – City Tour – Kaliurang

  • This morning, enjoy something different, something beautiful. Depart very early morning from Jogyakarta directly for Borobudur. Start from Manohara Hotel Borobudur Archeological Park and visit Borobudur, the biggest Buddhist temple in the world. Here witness the magical moment of the day as sun rises over Mount Merapi. Breathe in the fresh morning air. Let the beauty of the scene rejuvenate you as no other can. Afterwards, drive back to the hotel for breakfast.
  • In the afternoon, go on a short city tour which ends at Kaliurang. First visit Sultan Palace or ‘Kraton”. Built in the grand and elegant Javanese architectural style, it lies in the center of the municipality
  • Then continue Affandi Museum. Affandi was a legendary painter in Indonesia who got inspired by the unusual land surface to build on it
  • From Affandi Museum, drive to Kaliurang for lunch at Ulen Sentalu Museum (closed on Monday). Located on the slopes of Mount Merapi, the Ulen Sentalu Museum is arguably the most fascinating museum in the Yogyakarta area
  • Enjoy the Mt. Merapi volcano view, cool air and fresh atmosphere along with your lunch
  • Later drive down to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel

DAY 4

Malang

  • Breakfast at the hotel. This morning depart for Malang via Solo
  • En route stop and visit the Mangkunegaran Palace, famous from its priceless antique-collections.  Enjoy lunch at local restaurant
  • Upon arrive in Malang, check into your hotel. Overnight at Malang

DAY 5

Ijen

  • This morning do something different. Go on an optional excursion to one of the active volcanoes – Bromo. Get up early this morning, at around 1 a.m. and get set for an adventure to witnessing the beautiful sunrise at Mount Penanjakan. The trip continues to cross the sand-sea to get to the feet of Mount Bromo. The spectacular view of the range of volcanoes (Bromo, Batok and Semeru) is unveiled along with the rise of the morning sun. The view of this site is particularly spectacular. Afterwards drive back to the hotel for breakfast
  • After breakfast at the hotel, we start the day in Malang with city orientation. Here we will stop by at Candi Jago and Kidal Temple, Coban Rondo water castle and Kayoon Flower market (if time permit), following the route on our trip to Ijen Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Afterward, we continue drive up to Ijen
  • Arrive and check into your hotel. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Ijen

DAY 6

Ijen Excursion

  • Breakfast at the hotel. After an early wake-up call and breakfast, your vehicle carries you through the rural villages, coffee and clove plantations and then into one of Java’s last rainforests. Humidity, wildlife, giant ferns and big trees cover the slope of the mountain.
  • Arrive at the Park Ranger’s post to begin the 90 minute hike to Ijen Crater, located along a shady track with spectacular views at 2883 meters altitude
  • Watch miners descend into the crater and re-emerge carrying up to 80 kilos of ore on bamboo basket along the treacherous path
  • Afterwards, walk down the mountain and drive back to the hotel for lunch
  • After lunch, the day is free for you to explore the place on your own
  • Overnight day at hotel

DAY 7

Ijen – Ubud

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • After early check out, we depart for Bali
  • We will pass Banyuwangi, Ketapang, ride the ferry to cross Bali Strait, Gilimanuk. Upon arrival, directly transfer to your hotel in Ubud. After freshening up, enjoy lunch at local restaurant.
  • Overnight at Ubud

DAY 8

Ubud – Dancing and Gamelan Lesson – Sightseeing tour

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Walking down to the center about 500 meter across the foot ball field near the center, arrive at Pondok Pekak Library & Learning center, where you will be participating in the Balinese Gamelan and Dancing lesson with local lectures
  • Afterwards continue to visit Puri Ubud (Ubud Palace) and Neka museum, one of the famous museums in Ubud with its galleries. Thereafter you are dropped off at the Ubud art market where you can explore and practise your bargaining skill with the local seller. Return to the hotel
  • Overnight stay at hotel

DAY 9

Eco Walk – Departure

  • Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, come up to Bayad Village and join the Eco Walk program with a local Balinese. Explore a wealth of healing plants. Upon arrival at the meeting point, enjoy a break with coffee/tea/refreshment and a short introduction on the venture. Follow it with a light hike through the spice and herbal garden. Here get introduced to the plants that are used for first aid emergencies as well as for the treatment of chronic illnesses.
  • Continue your walk down to the cave and then return back through the underground labyrinth to your finish point where your car awaits to take you back to the hotel. Check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
